The first “Bikers for the Cure” Motorcycle Ride & Poker Run to benefit the North Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® will be held on Saturday, June 16th beginning at 9:00am, leaving from the Adamec Harley-Davidson Dealership on Baymeadows Road. .

Komen North Florida Awards Local Grants

The North Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has funded grants totaling $125,000 to six local organizations that provide breast cancer screening, early detection and support services to underserved Northeast Florida women—and men.

Komen Awards Research Grant to Mayo Clinic

The Susan G. Komen National Breast Cancer Foundation has awarded a research grant to Mayo Clinic physicians in Jacksonville, Fla., & Rochester, Minn., to help with the early detection of breast cancer in women with atypical cells in their breast tissue. The $597,939 research study grant was approved by Komen’s national Board of Directors in January.
